Franklin Tomorrow has just completed a Vision process of more than a year, involving hundreds of individuals working in the nine goal areas which encompass Franklin Tomorrow's area of work — Business, Community Character, Education, Environment, Government, Growth & Development, Housing, Recreation, and Transportation.
The refocused goals and strategies to accomplish them were then taken to the public at various locations to seek their input on those which are most important to the future of Franklin. The results of the Vision Fair process will be disclosed during the Breakfast With the Mayors on Jan. 31 and the mayors will speak to how local governments can respond.
Additional sponsors for the Breakfast with the Mayors series for 2012 include Barge, Waggoner, Sumner & Cannon; Williamson County Association of Realtors; Windstream Communications; and Ryan Search & Consulting.
To learn more about sponsorships, contact Franklin Tomorrow Executive Director Mindy Tate at 794-0998.

'Breakfast With the Mayors' at Franklin Theatre
By Donna O'Neil
Williamson Herald Managing Editor
Southeast Regional Housing and Urban Development Director Ed Jennings Jr. spoke to a nearly full house at the historic Franklin Theatre Sept. 20 at this year’s final Franklin Tomorrow Breakfast with the Mayors.
Jennings noted the “extraordinary vision” local and county organizations, including the Franklin Housing Authority, have on affordable housing. He cited the lack of barriers to the government leaders with regard to open discussions and leadership abilities when making decisions to pursue options for the needs of the community.
He also noted an understanding of the Volunteer state moniker after reviewing news stories and videos about the area’s pull-ourselves-up-by-our-bootstraps and take-charge recovery efforts after the May 2010 flood. “It showed what showed what can be done by men and women with inspired hearts,” he said.

Franklin Tomorrow's Business Strategy Group began our Breakfast with the Mayors series in the fall of 2009 in an effort to encourage communication between our government and our business community. The process began by seeking information, which produced a Business Task Force Report in late 2009. The 2011 Breakfast with the Mayors series presented by First Farmers Bank will see three breakfast events highlighting three seperate topics of interest as posed by the business community. All business leaders are welcome to participate. If you would like to be included on the next invitation list, contact the Franklin Tomorrow office to make your request. We thank you for your interest in our business community.
Franklin Tomorrow's 2011 Breakfast with the Mayors, presented by First Farmers Bank, have been held March 17 on the topic of workforce education, and June 7, with TDOT Commissioner John Schroer speaking on transportation. The next breakfast is set for September 20th on the topic of housing. Williamson County Mayor Rogers Anderson and Franklin Mayor Ken Moore have joined with Franklin Tomorrow to host the breakfasts as a means of increasing communication with the business community.
Franklin Tomorrow is a non-profit community organization that communicates a shared and evolving vision for the future of Franklin and focuses that Vision through education, advocacy, evaluation, implementation, and recognition of the vision's specific goals and strategies.
